Hey, I'm Kevin! My approach to coaching is mainly about working WITH you in order to help make health fit seamlessly into your lifestyle. I like to get a good understanding of what barriers you are facing to making change, and find out why they are barriers. I won't just tell you that you need to be disciplined and a lack of that is why you aren't able to achieve what you want - that isn't helpful and doesn't recognize the humanity of you and your challenges. Change and improvement takes compassion and empathy - both from me to you and you to you. I will dig deep to find out what is hard for you and problem solve with you to not only come up with solutions, but to also make you an active component of your change so that you gain the tools to continue to improve long after you are done with my care.
I have multiple years of experience working as a personal trainer/health coach, as well as working as a chiropractor. I have worked with all different types of clients from your typical 9-5 office working hoping to get fit, powerlifters and weightlifters trying to get to the next level, as well as older adults who are trying to age gracefully. Currently most of my patients are women who are discovering that strength training can be one of the most beneficial and EMPOWERING things that they can do. Very few things make me more happy than seeing them make progress every week and hearing them tell me how much more confidence they have in themselves know that they can lift A LOT of weight! As for what I do, I currently compete and train in powerlifting and olympic weightlifting! I also grew up playing hockey and have a few years of rec frisbee under my belt (that sport may be the most fun of them all).
